For the rapid detection of antimony.
Antimony is used in a range of industrial applications, most commonly it functions as a fire retardant. Antimony can also be alloyed with lead to improve durability for use in batteries, roofing or solder. It is also used in the manufacturing of high quality glass for computer screens and television screens.
Antimony Test Paper detects trivlanet antimony only. In the presence of pentavalent antimony, the latter must be reduced to trivalent antimony using metallic magnesium. In the presence of antimony the yellow test paper shows orange-red spots.
